Crispy Baked Chicken Wings with Sweet and Sour Sauce


5 lbs chicken wings
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper


Preheat oven to 400°F. Set a wire rack inside each of 2 large rimmed baking sheets. Place all ingredients in a large bowl; toss to coat. Divide wings between prepared racks and spread out in a single layer.


Bake wings until cooked through and skin is crispy, 45–50 minutes.

Sweet and Sour Sauce
1/2 c brown sugar
1/4 c ketchup
1/2 c pineapple juice
1/3 c cider vinegar
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 Tbsp cornstarch mixed with 1/3 c water


Mix sugar, ketchup, pineapple juice, vinegar and garlic powder together in saucepan. Stir and bring to a boil.


Stir in cornstarch mixture and cook, stirring until sauce is thickened. Cook 1 minute.
