Exciting Volunteer Opportunities

![]() |
Harvest Haven has volunteer opportunities for people who enjoy working outside–planting, weeding and harvesting in organic fruit and vegetable gardens; caring for livestock in a healthy, sustainable manner; or helping in straw/clay eco-building projects. Whether picking strawberries, feeding chickens, or clay-plastering straw walls, there is always lots to do and much to learn - physically, mentally, and most importantly, spiritually.
We are looking for those prepared to learn the basics of life, work hard, and to be a part of what is happening at Harvest Haven. Volunteers have an excellent opportunity to gain knowledge and experience that will benefit them for the rest of their lives. The work at Harvest Haven is hard and the hours are long, but the rewards are great.
Accommodations are clean and comfortable; the three homemade, organic meals per day are generous and nutritious. All basic needs will be abundantly provided. Our day of rest is from Friday evening to Saturday evening.
Positions for the farm work are available from mid-April to early October, and for the eco-building projects, year-round. Both short and long term stays are available.
Mark Benson, the farm manager, and his wife Mariko, speak fluent English and Japanese, and Ingrid Benson, Trevor’s wife, speaks fluent English and French.
If you are willing to invest time and energy, heart and soul, into something with enduring value, you will have a life-changing experience at Harvest Haven.
