Science and Faith in the Days of Swine Flu

Is eating organic food a matter of faith or science? Both! Test results show organically grown food is more nutritious, besides being much lower in toxic residues. The differences are measurable. But not only that, you can also taste and experience the benefits of organics. These things that belong to the realm of sensory perception and measurements are called “science.”

Beyond what man’s devices and senses can tell us, however, we know and understand that not poisoning the earth and the life forms on it, especially our fellow human beings, is the right thing to do in the sight of God. With the motive of doing the right thing according to God’s royal Law, we choose organic as a matter of faith.

The same things can be said about vaccinations. There is science that proves vaccinations are not only ineffective, but can also be, and are, dangerous to your health, and especially the health of your children: http://drtenpenny.com and http://thinktwice.com. If you do not have internet access, please ask for more information when you are at the store. Also read this timely article: http://www.naturalnews.com/027239_vaccines_flu_vaccine_.html that effectively demonstrates “why seasonal flu vaccines are utterly worthless and why their continued promotion is based entirely on fabricated studies and medical mythology.

As with organics, however, there are those who dispute, using their own version of science and muddying the waters for those not able to sort out the details. As Mark Twain famously said, “There are lies, damned lies, and statistics.”

This is where faith comes in. Faith is not blind and stupid, as some unbelieving scientists and others ignorantly declare, but is the evidence of higher things not seen or measured by our external senses. These things are not only knowable, but are necessary for us to know and to exercise if we will live well. Faith is the gift of our Creator for this purpose - that we might be surely guided and prospered in doing what is right and good.

In the beginning, it was purposed that we should live by faith, not by carnal knowledge.

So what does faith have to say about vaccinations? Faith says that if you live by God’s precepts, you don’t need dubious “extra protection” from potential killer diseases or even from common flu viruses, because you are already the recipient of God’s built-in protection by doing things properly. Speaking of diet and hygiene, for example, when done right, the immune system is naturally strong and supplied with what it needs to deal with pathogens. And when appropriate living arrangements are followed, they minimize the spread and severity of infections.

What it comes down to is this: You can live man’s way (which is to do whatever you please), get vaccinated, and perish, or live according to God’s way, which does away with the perceived need for dangerous forms of “protection” and treatment (pushed by those whose motive is profit), and live well.

God makes this promise, and His Word never fails:

“If with all your heart you will give attention to the voice of the Lord your God, and do what is right in His eyes, giving ear to His orders and keeping His laws, I will not put on you any of the diseases which I put on the Egyptians: for I am the Lord your Life-Giver” (Exodus 15:26 BBE).

In the current environment of disinformation and fear being generated about swine flu by wickedness in high places and evil rulers of the darkness of this world (Ephesians 6), there is no need to panic or give in to strong arm tactics pressuring you to get vaccinated. Know that God has made this world a good place to live, if you live by the rules. Science and faith fully agree there is a better way.

And if we don’t live by the rules, what good will vaccinations do us, anyway?

Update from the Building Site

by Mark Benson

Harvest Haven New BuildingWe continue to make steady progress on the house and preparations for the store. After the straw/clay workshop was completed, we sandblasted the timber frame and proceeded with trusses, roof framing, sheeting, and membrane cover. A carpenter friend came and helped us complete those jobs just in time for the dramatic change in weather. There is so much to do!

We selected a unique roofing option - weathering metal (metal that rusts to form its own weather proof seal) that should transform into a beautiful terra cotta colour. Once the roofing and boiler house work is completed, we will be starting on the interior thermal mass wall construction and contra-flow thermal mass heater. To those wanting to get involved and learn how to do some of these steps, we are accepting volunteers, particularly for the interior heavy clay/straw wall and heater construction. Start planning for it; give me a call, and we can talk.

We have been in touch with Takahashi-san, our Japanese timber framing friend, and plans are moving ahead for the store timber framing workshops next June and July. Timber must be sourced and specialized tools brought in from Japan. Start spreading the word now to all who may be interested. As well, more straw/clay workshops will be held in August 2010. The one we had this summer was a productive and enjoyable success for all.

C-DOVE

The “C” in C-DOVE stands for COSMODIC - the latest achievement of inventor Alexander Karasev in his development of bio-interactive healing technologies.

COSMODIC Technology differs from the latest generation of SCENAR devices represented by the DOVE (also invented by Karasev) by talking and listening to your body on 46 “channels” instead of just one. This allows the COSMODIC devices to stimulate healing on a deeper level, leaving your body with no choice but to engage in the healing process.

C-DOVECOSMODIC is excellent for healing chronic health problems or injuries because it promotes the necessary regeneration of tissues. It follows the body’s more subtle cues of deeper issues.  As its inventor puts it, COSMODIC is the technology of medication-free regeneration and recovery.

We have been pleasantly surprised, if not astounded, by the almost miraculous results with so many people and so many and varied problems. You need only try it; come in for a free session.

Flu Prevention and the Benefits of Organic Food

There are simple practical measures that can be taken during the flu season and at anytime. Harvest Haven Garlic, Chicken and Turkey Soup Broths, and the HotHouse are all excellent and noninvasive treatments for the flu. Gargling twice a day with a warm solution of Nature’s Cargo Salt water, drinking plenty of warm liquids (herbal teas, soup broths, and water), and boosting your natural immunity with organic foods rich in Vitamin C are necessary preventive measures.

Concerning organic food, this information came to my attention and is a must-read. Most of you already know the benefits of organics, but this information outlines, with scientific data, the health benefits of eating organically. Organics is much more than a lifestyle choice:

HTE Health Devices – Why Miss Out?

Positive results from the field and on the homestead keep coming in. The nice thing about working with such effective and versatile health devices is that we can share some new discoveries with you, if you don’t share them with us first! For example, Victor had some stubborn plantar warts. I’ll let him tell the story:

I tried banana peels and apple cider vinegar for several weeks. I tried Compound W and its competitor, Duofilm, with bandaids. I tried burning them out with frozen nitrogen at a clinic (four or five applications) and none of those things worked, even when used together.

Then Marilyn tells me about a customer who had had a stubborn plantar wart problem. He said he did a 3-hour session with his foot close to the wall of the HotHouse and the warts were gone, not to return.

Far Infrared? Why of course! Why didn’t I think of that? After all, Far Infrared was supposed to work with fungi. So I tried it. I didn’t do it for a solid 3 hours at any time, but I did it off and on while at the computer, likely for a total of about 15 hours, here an hour, there a half hour. The three warts I had were well established for about 2 years, but now they are gone.

The HotHouse works very effectively with the Chi Machine, as many of you know firsthand. Another customer’s story:

We purchased both the Chi machine and regular hothouse in august 09- hoping to help my wife find some relief for her tennis elbow- she had tried cortisone shots, acupuncture, chiropractic care and physiotherapy without success and was accepting that she would wear a Tensor flexible support and endure some pain from now on. After several sessions, the pain seemed to ease away and now 2 months later the pain is gone and so is the bandage.
- Eric Guilbert Lethbridge, AB

SOQI bedIf the Chi Machine works well with one HotHouse, how about a full body treatment with three? Have you tried the new Grande SOQI Bed? We are really enjoying ours. It makes for the easiest, most comfortable, and best way to use the Chi Machine in combination with the HotHouse. You must come try it and see for yourself. Here is the testimony of one new owner:

Using the SOQI bed has given me increased peace of mind.  I have been sleeping much better, too.  I am able to think more clearly and feel much more peaceful and rested.  I feel great after the ‘chi rush’ and have a calm about me that I have never experienced before.  I highly recommend the chi equipment for everyone.
- Aaron Sadler, Vancouver, BC

We have a SOQI bed at Harvest Haven anyone can try…

I find the Grande SOQI bed to be practical (the height and width are perfect) and comfortable (not too soft, not too hard, just right). The SOQI bed takes ¼ of the time to give relief than when just a Chi Machine and one HotHouse are used. For example, a varicose vein flare up was resolved in 15 minutes on the SOQI bed.  I am very thankful that we are able to have this device in our store.

"We Bought the Farm"

Wind in the Hair

This summer we had numerous helpers working on our straw/clay house, among them Guy Pollard, a woodworking specialist. He brought along Jamie, who was unemployed and in need of some occupation, being the nervous type as a result of life circumstances.

Jamie had to be kept constantly busy. He helped Guy with some timber work, but as in any activity, there were quiet times that needed to be enjoyed or endured. Jamie could do neither. Seeing he was getting antsy, Guy made a request of Mark, “Jamie needs a change of pace. Can you give him something to get some wind in his hair?”

“Wind in his hair?” Mark thought. “How about a ride on the quad?” So off they went for a fast ride to the far end of the pasture. On their way back, Mark received a distress call on the radio. “Mark, pick up! Mark!” It was Mariko, plainly excited. “BB’s out!”

BB, our bull! Yoshi, a Japanese intern, had inadvertently left the gate open from the corral to the barn. And BB wasn’t about to let that opportunity go by. After all, being in a corral day in and day out, he was having the same problem Jamie was – he too wanted some wind in his hair. Not only was the gate to the barn open, so was the barn door leading to the yard. “Hmmm,” he thought, “This is a breeze!”

When BB poked his head through the barn door to assess his options, Dena, Mariko, Takeshiro, and Yoshi spotted him almost immediately from different directions. Dena was returning from the back of the shop to the store front when she looked up, surprised, and thought, “BB? BB?!” Mariko and Takeshiro were by the workshop, shocked, and Yoshi was in the corral, traumatized. He instantly knew who was responsible!

They all instinctively determined to block the passages to BB’s adventures or misadventures. Mariko and Takeshiro blocked the roadway to the construction site and the driveway leading out of the farm; teeny Dena stood at the driveway by the store to the household yard, thinking, “Over my dead body! I’m not taking any bull here!” Meanwhile, Yoshi, with immediate and sharp pangs of guilt, made about three swift, panicky circles around the square, trying to cover his eyes, ears, and mouth all at once, not knowing what to block.

BB wasn’t going to lose any time. “I’m outta here!” Out the door and down the main road to the pasture he charged, if only to spare himself the commotion.

While Mark and Jamie were streaking west along one road, through the caragana hedge they glimpsed BB going full tilt east on the other road straight for the cows in the far pasture. It was like a Hollywood car chase. “Hang on, Jamie! There’s BB!” Mark shouted, jammed on the brakes, and spun a fish tail.

Mark and Jamie swiftly gained on BB on the narrow road between the caraganas and the pasture fence. “We have to stop him!” Mark exclaimed, “We can’t let him get to the cows!”

What to do? Mark decided to try to pass him on the narrow road and turn him back, which could be tricky. The nearly one ton bull could veer and ram them into the caraganas or, maybe worse, the barbwire fence.

Jamie now had not only a free ticket to ride - he had better than a front row seat at his own personal rodeo, speeding at arm’s length beside a runaway bull. He didn’t find the “rodeo clown” very funny, either. There was BB in his glory, with big black bulging muscles rippling in the sun, and there was Jamie, wide-eyed, beginning to wonder if this wasn’t too much wind in his hair.

It wouldn’t take long for him to make up his mind. Mark tried to turn BB by kicking him from the ATV while riding alongside him, to no avail – BB didn’t mind a bit. Then Mark managed to pull ahead. He was trying to slow down and block the galloping behemoth, shouting and waving his arm wildly to persuade BB to stop and turn back.

But now BB was more concerned about what was behind him. Buddy, our black lab, was getting wind in his hair, too, dashing right behind BB, doing his best to help, yet soooo unappreciated, most particularly by Jamie. Mark was trying to slow down and stall a wild bull, which was immediately behind Jamie, and Buddy was giving it all he had to keep BB forging ahead at full speed.

“Wind in his hair”? Jamie was now getting wary in his hind. And he thought he was nervous when things were quiet? “Let me off! Get me outta here!” he screamed, his white knuckled hands in a death grip on the steel frame of the ATV, his hair standing straight up (perhaps to facilitate more wind in his hair?). What Jamie did not know was that BB wouldn’t hurt a fly! It seemed his only idea of a bull was of the Calgary Stampede variety.

As BB passed the gate and entered the pasture, Mark dropped off his petrified passenger. “Stand by the fence, in case BB comes back. You’ll be safer there,” he instructed, and continued the chase. But BB had no mind to return or stop for anything; he promptly jumped the electric fence and joined the cows.

The chase was over as suddenly as it had begun. The urgency gone for the moment, they would now be faced with the challenging task of herding the cows to the corral and cutting out the bull. Mark returned to pick Jamie up, but Jamie was nowhere to be found – he had wasted no time returning on his own to the workshop, for which he suddenly developed a keener sense of appreciation.

As Jamie entered the workshop, Guy was quietly doing his woodwork, oblivious to the events of the past few minutes. “Well, Jamie,” he nonchalantly asked, “do you feel better now? Did you get some wind in your hair?”

Editor’s Note: Though the story is based on true events and characters, there’s a smidgen of em-bull-ishment; some call it “bull,” while the more diplomatic might call it “poetic license.”
