the theme of our farm business is “Back to Basics.” Another
way of putting it is that we practice Preventative Healthcare.

Salt and the Principle of Wholeness by Paul Cohen
Recently we have been learning more about salt. Whole salt properly
harvested from the sea contains a great variety of minerals and
trace minerals directly suited, and necessary for our bodies'
health. The cheap white stuff labeled "salt" is highly
processed, 100% sodium chloride, nothing else. It is neither
whole nor balanced as found in nature. It is therefore out of
harmony with nature and our bodies.
Our blood has similar mineral composition to seawater. Salt
that is harvested from the sea has those necessary elements to
harmonize our body systems. We need the minerals found in whole
salt. What is best is that these minerals come already packaged
for us in appropriate proportions, and in a deliverable form
that is directly suitable for the body. It doesn't take much
salt to season your food, nor does it take much of its (whole
salt's) components to give you what you need. Some of these very
necessary elements have been labeled "trace" elements.
A little is what is needed; more is not necessarily better.
Along the same lines, foods that are used whole, which are
raised to maturity on good clean soil, provide vitamins, minerals,
phytochemicals, and literally thousands of other substances
not available on the market. We don't live by isolated things.
Whole and organic foods have a multitude of elements, and who
is to say that ALL of them in COMBINATION are not beneficial,
even necessary to life? Is it wise to depend on refined, chemically
grown and treated foods, and then supplements to make up for
the shortfall? Ought we not first seek those fundamental and
basic things that suit our needs? Isn’t whole sea salt
the ultimate mineral supplement, at a fraction of the cost
of man-made ones? Doesn’t the same go for food, grown
in conditions as described above?
It is very simple. We come from the earth, and those things
grown or obtained from the earth match our needs.
No doubt, we might lack somewhat from depleted soils by not
eating certain supplements. However, what are we lacking by
not availing ourselves of good organic food? God has created
us to eat foods, not supplements. That is why we have this
organic farm. We are replenishing the soil, treating it right,
and our emphasis is on going back to basics. Natural sea salt
is a basic, as is good, clean food. These ought to come first.
Second, or never, is not really a choice in the long run.
Some Interesting Facts about Salt (Bottle washer’s
note)
The word “salt” has received a bad rap, and the
ordinary processed table salt deserves every bit of it and more.
It is nutritionless poison, nothing less. It is my conviction
that good, wholesome, unprocessed salt normalizes body systems.
I believe that if we were all to consume but moderate quantities
of proper salt, we would soon do away with many of our ailments
and diseases. Let us consider some facts about good and bad salt:
Did you know that whole salt is the most complex mineral element
of the planet? Did you know that salt is found in 85% of the
earth? Does that tell you something? To me, it means that salt
was provided in abundance, because it is so vital to our lives.
The Bible says, quoting the Lord Jesus Christ, that “salt
is good.” Yet, many “experts” and “professionals” would
have us believe that the less salt we consume, the better. Not
so. I believe God. Of course, if the experts are referring to
ordinary table salt, they are right. However, Jesus was not referring
to the cheap counterfeit. He was referring to the real thing,
and so are we.
Does salt indeed increase blood pressure? Ordinary table salt
does. However, the British Medical Journal has reported that
whole, properly harvested sea salt normalizes blood pressure.
It reduces high blood pressure and increases low blood pressure.
Isn’t that wonderful? That beats taking medication, does
it not?
Don’t be fooled by the term “sea salt.” Salt
coming from the sea means no more than flour coming from the
farm. There is processed flour that is poison, and organic flour
that is wholesome and nutritious. Both come from the farm. The
questions are: “Where in the sea does it come from? How
is it extracted? Is it refined?”
Ordinary table salt has no nutrients whatsoever, and the iodine
added is synthetic. Good sea salt has upwards of 92 minerals,
24 of them known to be trace minerals essential for life, in
proper proportion and balance. Natural iodine is one of them.
While the synthetic iodine of poison table salt lasts no longer
than 20 minutes in one’s body, the natural iodine of good
salt will be there 48 hours, with traces evident weeks later.
Natural salt provides the vital connection with the forces and
elements of nature.

Good reading on salt: Seasalt’s Hidden Powers by Jacques
de Langre, Ph.D.
Note: While RealSalt is mined on land, and may not have the
same quality as newly harvested sea salt such as Nature’s
Cargo, it is nevertheless very good, and is by far preferable
to what is commonly used.
Item Number Two on Our Food Section - Dandelions!!!
This so-called “weed” has been the bane of gardeners,
lawn dressers, park and golf course keepers, farmers and more.
Yet, it is no secret that dandelions are enormously nutritious.
Italians love them in their green salads. Why do you think they
can sing so well? By the looks of Pavarotti, he eats several
salad bowls each day, with olive oil, of course!
Here goes the “chicken and egg” thing: “Are
people smarter because they eat dandelions or do they eat dandelions
because they are smarter?” I have no doubt that if dandelions
are full of nutrients, which they are, they will be better off
mentally as well as physically. Animals love them, birds love
them, children love them (until they are forced to weed them)
so why don’t we? It seems that we tend to despise the common.
Another conviction: We are searching the world over for expensive
and exotic herbs and supplements when we already have a veritable
carpet of medicine beneath our feet, nearly everywhere we walk.
It is a fact that dandelions are blood and liver cleansers, that
they help other vital organs, like the kidneys and pancreas.
How many people have problems in these areas, even cancer!
So, take fresh dandelion leaves (flowers and stems too if you
wish), with good salt, some essential balance oils and apple
cider vinegar each day, and you will be improving your health
potential significantly! Pick them young and shaded, to avoid
much bitterness. When mixed with other salad stuffs, they are
simply delicious!
Warning: Don’t pick them from chemicaled areas, and if
you don’t have any, we sell commercial organically grown
dandelions.
Item Number Three - A Secret About Good Beef! Did You Know?
You can get your Omega 3’s and 6’s from Harvest
Haven organic, pasture-fed beef! Our beef has the best of pasturing
with diversity, including Cicer milkvetch (high in protein lipase),
legumes, clovers, and grasses. We mineralize our pastures and
water them with Grander, thus enabling plants to absorb nutrients
from the soil more efficiently, and protecting the cattle from
unwanted chemicals. Our beef is no ordinary beef.
Item Number Four – Sauerkraut
Who Wants European-style, oak barrel-made Sauerkraut? We have

Water
Water – What a Substance! by Paul Cohen
On May 5, a meeting was held at Harvest Haven with Dan Stewart
of Water Revitalization Ltd, representing Grander
Water Revitalization products for North America. The main thrust of Dan's presentation
was that water has a tremendous memory for information, which
can make water the carrier of either life or death. When water
is chemically treated, confined, and then transported in straight
piping systems, it loses much of its original vitality becoming
listless, carrying negative information. No amount of other types
of treatments will change this.
What is unique about Johann Grander's systems is that he has
found a way to overwrite the negative information by re-establishing
the original and healthful information that water carries when
pristine. Thereby the water becomes a better solvent, cleans
itself up, and becomes the conduit of life that it was created
to be. Grander credits his invention as a gift from God.
The following night Victor and I attended a presentation in
Calgary by Dr. Emoto of Japan, famous for his book, Messages
from Water. Dr. Emoto's work with waters from all over
the world has demonstrated that water quality, while degraded
by industrial processes, can also be affected by music, thoughts
and words. He documents this effect with before and after pictures
of the crystalline structure of various waters when frozen. Water
exposed to harmonious music, or having positive words or thoughts
applied to it, takes on meaningful and beautiful geometric patterns.
These patterns represent a positive reorganization of water.
The results, however, are only temporary, especially in tap water
that lacks tight formative clusters to begin with, which clusters
can then better hold the information imparted to the water. The
wonderful thing about Grander revitalization is that it re-establishes
permanently these formative clusters found in healthy water.
Dr. Emoto said that concerning our health, "Diseases come
from irregularities of vibration." What Grander Water Revitalization
does is to help normalize and restore the proper vibrational
information to water, giving it life abetting properties and
vitality, aiding not only our health, but also the health of
all it comes in contact with, earth, plants and animals.
The Hsin Ten Enterprises Products (CHI NEWS)
Greetings to all the Chi Distributors and customers out there!
A reminder that so far, Hsin Ten is still offering free carrying
cases, enzymes and Beta Loe with every Chi and HotHouse Combo
order. That is a good deal, knowing that many people in the past
have ordered those machines without that bonus, myself included.
Besides that, the company is giving free enzymes and a Daytimer
if you email your order in on any machine purchase. Doing it
that way, one receives about $350 Can.(or $15 Am…but things
are looking up lately…used to be $10 Am.) in free and
useful merchandise with a combo, and over $100 (Can.) worth with
a single machine!
Are you aware that if you order 6 machines, be they Chi, Hot
House, FIR-To-Go, or Energizers, in any one month, you receive
a free one, besides your commissions? Something to think about!
Chi Testimony by Sherry Greenberg ND, HMD, LMFT
I would like to share my gratitude for my Chi Machine! The past
six months have been the busiest time of my life. Every moment
seemed to be filled with back-to-back clients and the days were
extremely long. During this time my normal exercise routine of
running, walking and yoga that I had a lifetime commitment to,
took a serious decline. Newly acquiring and using the Chi Machine,
I was able to maintain my level of mental, emotional and physical
fitness during this time. Now that my schedule is allowing me
to resume my exercise routine, I find that I am able to return
to these fitness activities easily. Therefore, I know the Chi
Machine was instrumental in maintaining my level of fitness.
I was amazed at my ability to maintain a graceful emotional attitude
in times of high stress without exercise. I found a little bit
of “Chi” time spent yielded a high quality holistic
return.
Chi Testimony by Richard Vodegel, MD, Sun Lakes, AZ
Rheumatoid arthritis, chronic neck and back pain, chronic fatigue
I am a 72 year-old medical doctor and psychiatrist who has used
the Chi Machine now for about a week. Prior to this, I have availed
myself of the usual prescribed medical therapies and medications.
My symptoms were:
Chronic back and neck pain due to ankylosing spondylitis,
a form of rheumatoid arthritis where the spine becomes fused
and rigid. This started 35 years ago.
Chronic fatigue for 5 years, with lack of physical energy,
where many little daily things were difficult to do.
Sleep disturbances because of the pain.
What the machine did for me:
Back and neck pain changed to the point that they did not
control my life anymore.
The chronic fatigue disappeared surprisingly after 5 days,
and I have no trouble doing things again.
Sleep is comfortable without continuously having to find
a painless sleeping position. It seems that my bed and I are
friends again.
Last, but not least, a feeling of well-being and normalcy
only remembered from younger years.
I used the Chi Machine twice a day. One day, I only got one
treatment and felt the difference. Frequent experiences after
a treatment were as if I just had a good workout, as if I were
in a spa or had a good relaxing massage. Also, I had some small
but pleasant changes, e.g. putting on my socks and shoes were
easier. Considering that, as a beginner, each treatment lasted
only 5 minutes, for the ratio of times spent and duration of
benefits received, it was not a difficult decision to purchase
the machine.
Dr. Nathan Lipton, who has been in Lethbridge, has over 30 medical
doctors in his downline, both using and selling Chi Machines,
HotHouses and Energizers. They find them very effective. Don’t
think the medical people are missing out!
The Spiritual
Have You Ever Wondered?
They say Jesus Christ was a great man, a prophet, a teacher,
an enlightened and wise and good man who loved people. Many believe
He was, and is, the Son of God, even God Himself. The entire
Bible is based on Him, the Gospels on His life and work. Now
while people are not at all ashamed nor reticent to speak of
any other man, so many are ashamed to speak of Him. Have you
ever wondered why? If you have answers, let us know. We would
like to hear them.
“We Bought the Farm”
This is where we talk about the unusual, the strange, the incredible,
the funny…the ridiculous?
“They Took a Gander” by Lois Benson
On a bright warm autumn day, I decided I had better pick the
beans for seed the next year. I was enjoying the peace and quiet
in the patch when along came…the GEESE. The squadron (or
gaggle, whatever) of twelve made their way into the bean patch
to see what I was up to. They were always curious, ever investigating
anyone and everything. The geese would follow customers around,
to the delight of some, annoyance of others, and some even in
fear of them.
They were honking, shaking their heads, stopping to nibble on
the dry bean vines, and came over to look into what I had in
my container. I thought, "Oh great, there goes my quiet
few hours in the garden!" I decided I would try to discourage
them from making so much noise. I began to sing. At first their
honking continued, then slowly, goose by goose, they stopped.
They looked around, cocking their heads, and looked at me in
amazement as if to say, "What is that noise?" They
remained beside me, but were very quiet. So I decided to try
a second verse to see what would happen. As I began, the geese
looked at one another, and I am sure that if they could, they
would have rolled their eyes. Then, politely and respectfully,
they filed into a single line formation (all twelve) and waddled
out of the garden. Once they got outside of the garden, though,
they broke into a noisy commentary, shaking their heads and looking
back at me as they left.
