Harvest Haven Health - HERALD ISSUE 1

Welcome to the very first edition of the HARVEST HAVEN HERALD. I have no doubt that it will begin humbly, unprofessionally, awkwardly, and all that. So what? Who knows? This may be the only copy ever issued, if it ever makes it out. So if you do get it, don’t throw it away! It may turn out to be a rare collector’s item! Rare or not, please read it. Hopefully, you will find this information helpful and pass it on to others. Make copies and hand out to all those you wish.

We at Harvest Haven Market Farm discussed a general newsletter for a long time. We also felt we needed to send out a newsletter to all of our distributors and customers of the HTE products (the Chi Machine, the HotHouse, and the Energizer in particular). We finally decided to have two newsletters in one.

Lord willing, we will publish the Harvest Haven Herald as we are free to do so, and not on a scheduled basis. This way we hope to publish only if we feel we have something worthwhile to say, and not because it is a regular, scheduled time to do so. So, the next issue might be three weeks, or two months, or a year from now!

The Mission and Direction of Harvest Haven Market Farm

Let me first briefly tell you what we see as our mission and direction (in the physical realm) at Harvest Haven. The theme of this market farm is “Back To Basics.” We have sought to simplify, clarify and “healthify” our lives and the lives of others wherever given to do so, in every way possible and feasible. Ironically, the process of getting there is not real simple, nor easy. Who can doubt, for example, that today we have information overload? When Henry Ford first began manufacturing and marketing cars, he said the customer could choose any color he or she wished, as long as it was black. Today, it becomes a pain to choose a toothbrush! It is a pain to choose a potato or a carrot! Because of this, we are trying to make decisions far simpler for everyone. How? By doing the research, eliminating many and most of the less virtuous options, sticking to the reasonably best there is. Therefore, if you come to our on-farm store, open every day of the week and year but Saturdays, you will come into a store that has the basics, the best we know of, and in many cases, all you will really need in those particular basics, without having to go through much of the painful decision-making process. You will find products that are good for you, good for your animals, good for the environment, good in many ways.

By basics, we mean the necessities of life. We don’t get into the impossible everything, but we get into ORGANIC FOOD, LIVING WATER, REVITALIZED AIR, EFFECTIVE, ENJOYABLE, HEALTH MACHINES, NATURAL REMEDIES, BASIC TOILETRIES, CLEANING and HEALTH PRODUCTS. These we ourselves use, know they work, and can heartily share them with everyone. You will find that we get into but very few supplements, or snack foods, or things we really don’t consider as BASIC or constantly necessary.

Besides product, we are here to help people to learn how to farm organically, to connect others with resources and contacts necessary and available for everyone’s good. We offer advice on wholesome food preparation, on farming techniques, on choices of seeds, fertilizers, equipment, etc., and on living in general.

The Spiritual Dimension

We have discovered the path of life, or rather, it has been given to us. For those interested, our “raison d’être” is a spiritual one, which we believe is the case for all. We seek to love and to serve the Lord with all the heart, soul, mind and strength, and to love our neighbor as ourselves. Jesus Christ is Lord of lords, King of kings. He, the One and only Savior, He died for our sakes, to reconcile us to God, and after three days was raised in the flesh from the grave to die no more. He lives and reigns, and for His sake and glory we exist. From Him, for Him, and to Him are all things. To Him belong all glory, honor and praise.

It is about time we sent out a newsletter to all of you. I know it should be a good thing to keep in touch with you, and to keep you all informed of the facts as we learn of them, to help and encourage you as best we know how.

We will begin by breaking our newsletter up into topical sections. The topics for today will be ORGANIC FOOD, WATER, AIR, CHI NEWS, “WE BOUGHT THE FARM”, and MISCELLANEOUS. If you have any suggestions for our newsletter, please let us know. We will consider them.

Organic Food

Good, wholesome, organic food is of prime importance to our health, a key basic. You need to know that, and you need to take responsibility for your health. Join us, will you?

We want you to know that we sell certified organic groceries in our store, contrary to the assertions of one of our main competitors. As to what we produce on the farm, while we are not certified, we produce by standards above and beyond certification requirements. I ask you: “Why should we hire and pay an organic certification body to tell us how to grow our foods and raise our animals organically when we know how, and do so, beyond their standards, by conviction and principle, and not because we are in it for the money? Why do we need someone to police us when we do more than required now? Finally, if a policing body is needed in organic food production, does that not tell you that offences do occur in their jurisdictions, whether deliberately or otherwise? But if we grow and produce food the right way because we want to, because we truly believe in it, I think that we are every bit as trustworthy, if not more so, than those who are certified.

Admittedly, there are those out there who call themselves organic or who claim to produce their foods naturally, yet the impressions they wish to convey are quite false, deliberately or otherwise. We invite you to examine us, if you will, and thus find that we are not among them. This community in the Lethbridge and surrounding area has the opportunity and privilege to find out directly whether in fact we produce good, wholesome food or not, whether we meet organic standards or not, whether we exceed them or not. Rather than paying inspectors to tell others that we are legitimate, you will be our inspectors, paying us in that you will buy our goods, knowing they are good. Hopefully, in the next issue, I will point out some of the reasons why we claim to exceed organic certification standards.

Water

There is every kind of water and water treatment imaginable on the market today. What does one choose? What does one do? We believe we have the very best in the world for you and for your water. We know of nothing better. I shall give you a crude example: One can beautify a corpse in a coffin, do up the hair, put make-up on the face, put on fine clothing, but the corpse is still lifeless. One can filter, chlorinate, distill, do whatever with water but it is still lifeless, and relatively ineffective to do the job for which it was created. We believe that we have the best answer to that problem. Call us!

Air

It is all about oxygen and clean air, folks. We have ways in which we can help you in this all-important department too. The Chi machine is only one of those ways. Aerobic oxygen is another. Wonderful ionizers are yet another. Wait till you try our good air!

The Hsin Ten Products (CHI NEWS)

It has been many years since I was enthusiastic about some products on the market. The Chi Machine, the FIR Dome (HotHouse) and the Energizer have far surpassed any expectations we initially had of them. They have been simply wonderful. I have to admit that at times I felt a little guilty of extolling their virtues. At times I myself was wondering if what I was saying was really true. It was almost too good to be true. But we kept experiencing, hearing of, and witnessing the results. There was an instinct, one might call it, something beyond my conscious knowledge working within me, impressing me that we did indeed have wonderful health equipment that could help people so much, to be manifest in so many ways. The results we have and do experience have proven that instinct was true, that I have no reason to feel guilty or to apologize for my enthusiasm. These machines have worked for us, they have worked for others, and I dare say, for all those who have given them a fair chance.

Copycats

It is a sad thing to witness copycats on the market, and the tragedy of those who choose to allow money to cloud their judgment in making serious and important decisions. Not only are those who buy copycats duped into wasting their money, but they support the dupers who are criminals. Let me go on record now to declare to you that none of the copycats, no matter whether they sell for 90 dollars or 600 dollars, can do what the Original Sun Ancon Chi Machine does for people. On the contrary, the copycats do harm, which we have witnessed on several occasions. We don’t always get what we pay for, contrary to the saying, but in this case, I can heartily tell you that the copycats are very expensive and the Original Chi very inexpensive if one compares the results. Is it not the results we are after?

The Original Sun Ancon Chi Machine

Most of you will have the general information on the Chi Machine. If not, ask for it. We will quote another newsletter for now, describing the four main features of this wonderful invention by an eminent Japanese medical doctor.

Energizer Testimony – by Lois Benson

Over the past years, I have suffered from bone pain preceding weather changes, especially in the hip and down the leg. I began using the Reflex Energizer for 20 minutes a day on mode 3 on a regular basis (which I think is very important) and I have found that I am no longer experiencing any pain after a month of use.

What this absence of pain has meant is that I sleep better because I can now sleep on either side whereas before it hurt enough to prohibit this. I also have better mobility, which is wonderful. However, best of all is the mental relief by having my faculties freed from the preoccupation pain brings to your mind and being. I feel this is something that can help many other people who suffer in a similar way.

DISCLAIMER AND WARNING

I wish to go on record here in this, our first issue of this newsletter, to declare to you that we, as distributors of the Chi Machine, HotHouse and the Energizer, are not permitted to make any claims other than those allowed by the FDA and Health Canada. For example, we cannot tell anyone that the HotHouse can cure cancer. Yes, we have known of people who were terminally ill with cancer, told by medical doctors to go home and die, who went home and used the HotHouse instead, and they are now alive and well. Now in the cases I know of, there were also other factors involved, such as Essiac Tea, Ozonation treatments, change of diet, cessation of smoking, etc. We cannot ever claim that any of these things are cures for cancer. What I believe we CAN talk about is simply what happens to us, what we experienced, and that these machines do indeed help our bodies to heal themselves. So, if I use the HotHouse and help my immune system out, whether directly or indirectly, and my immune system fights off my cancer, wonderful! I can’t prove it, of course, but I can share my own personal facts without making outrageous or unprovable claims, or draw any conclusions without sure evidence.

Please know, all of you, that we can be penalized by the authorities for exaggerations or false claims. Yes, these machines have proven themselves to do much more than we expected, much more than we are permitted to claim for them. However, we must be satisfied with allowing those who have personally experienced the wonderful benefits of these machines to speak for themselves, while we speak for ourselves. So far, we have not had our freedom of speech taken away from us to the extent that we can’t speak of our own personal experiences, or have we?

Tax Tips

I hope I’m not too late for this for some of you. Are you aware that, as registered distributors of Hsin Ten Enterprises (the Chi company), you are legally in business for yourselves and may thus deduct all related expenses? For example, you may claim a portion of your home, that portion you use for office, showroom or storage. You may claim a percentage of your utilities and taxes, upkeep. You may claim any vehicle expenses pertaining to business. Keep your receipts and keep a logbook of your mileage, oil changes, car maintenance, depreciation, insurance and such. You can claim a portion of the machine(s) you purchased. For example, if you were to calculate the life of a Chi Machine at say, 4 years, and if it cost you 720 dollars, divide 720 by 4 to get 180, and deduct 180 dollars from your income each year as an expense. (By the way, on the cruise to the Caribbean this month, we heard that they can last much longer). It is also reported there are those deducting the Chi as a health expense deduction. Why not? Talk to someone who can help you in this area, be it an accountant, bookkeeper, H&R Block, or someone who knows something about taxes.

Some Important Farm News

Let it be known that we will be planting this year. Last year we gave the land a rest and we start fresh again. Yes, STRAWBERRIES are coming, but not until about August.
We still have an abundant supply of outstanding flavored certified organic BC red and Russet POTATOES in root cellar storage in excellent condition. Also, onions and carrots. Tell your friends, combine purchases and save on bulk prices.

Miscellaneous

For Sale: Miscellaneous articles such as acoustic guitars (one six-string, one twelve), a John Deere seed drill, a humidifier/mister, golf clubs, sandbox toys, children’s clothes and furnishings, beds, a plastic mulcher, water softeners, car carrier, AVR (electronic automotive analyzer) and so much more. Is that “miscellaneous” enough? Oh yes…collector’s Avon after-shave and cologne bottles, many still full. Call us for details.

“We Bought the Farm”

This could also be called our “Humor Column” or something akin to an obituary. We will let you know, at our expense, some of the trying, and often embarrassing events occurring at our farm. Perhaps you may want to help us?

Trevor, our homemade mechanic, got himself into a pickle one day. He was in the shop servicing the tractor when he decided to check out the hydraulics. He tried to see the level of the oil and did not have a dipstick, so in goes his finger. Well, he suddenly found he could not get his finger out. There was nobody to hear him though he cried for help. Ingrid was working with some noisy equipment elsewhere so could not hear him, and there was nobody else nearby. Courageously, Trevor decided not to panic, hoping his finger wasn’t going to swell, thus making it that much harder to dislodge it. We had visions of an ambulance coming out and having to hook up a trailer to take the tractor and Trevor back into town to perform a digital tractorotomy. (We are very educated and sophisticated here.) He finally succeeded in working his finger loose, freeing him for the next adventure. Shortly after, in his anxiety over his close shave, he had upbraided Ingrid for not regularly checking up on him to see if he was all right. In the future, Ingrid is considering churning butter in the workshop instead of the kitchen.
