Manitoba Harvest produces organic hemp seed, hemp powder, hemp oil and hemp milk. Their hemp seeds are one of the few that are processed on demand, resulting in fresher and better tasting product than other available hemp products.

Rocky Mountain Hemp Hearts are also produced on demand, but the products are not organic. When comparing Manitoba Harvest to Rocky Mountain hemp, most people found that Manitoba Harvest tasted better, stayed fresher much longer, contained fewer hulls and seemed to contain much more oil than the Rocky Mountain hemp. Manitoba Harvest is simply a better product.

Many people mistakenly believe that Rocky Mountain Hemp Hearts are organic. This is because it is marketed as “comparable to organic, our products are identity preserved.” This only means that each lot number can be traced back to the farm where it was grown, not that it is properly grown.

Rocky Mountain is a company owned by a third generation conventional farmer who uses anhydrous ammonia, a very hazardous chemical, to grow his hemp. Additional hemp is also purchased from other conventional farmers, without any adherence to standards for how the hemp is produced. In contrast, Manitoba Harvest is committed to sustainable farming and business practices and has a certified organic processing facility.

Rocky Mountain sells clear hemp oil. It has been refined, leaving little flavour or nutrients in the finished product. Manitoba Harvest features unrefined hemp oil that has been cold pressed. It is full of flavour and is very nutritious.

Manitoba Harvest brought the first organic hemp seed milk to market. Hemp Bliss is a nutritious alternative to soy, almond or rice milk. It has a delightfully nutty flavor, with a smooth creamy texture, and is a good source of Omega 3 fatty acids. Available in Original, Chocolate, and Vanilla.
