At Harvest Haven we have organic dairy products from Vital Green Farms. What makes Vital Green Farms dairy superior, even to other organic dairy products?
Local, certified organic dairy producer, providing much fresher milk than available in other stores.
Low temperature pasteurization, which leaves many enzymes
and nutrients intact. This makes the milk easier to digest, more nutritious,
plus it
tastes better! Most milk is processed at high temperatures (ultra-pasteurization),
which destroys the vitamin and enzyme content. This also denatures the
milk
proteins, which is why so many people have difficulty digesting milk.
Non-homogenized. Homogenization is a process that reduces the size of fat
globules in milk to about a quarter of their original size, which prevents
cream from separating and is used to extend shelf life. The milk enzyme
xanthine oxidase is then allowed to pass intact into the bloodstream where
it attacks
tissue in the artery walls and heart muscle. This causes lesions that the
body tries to heal with a protective layer of cholesterol. This results
in scar tissue, calcified plaques and a build-up of cholesterol and other
fatty
deposits.
Creamier and much better tasting than other milks.
Easy to digest. Many customers who thought they were lactose intolerant
can drink Vital Green Farms milk without any problem.
Cultured butter, which tastes great and is also easier to digest than other butters.
One of our customers who regularly purchases this milk told us that her husband used to give her a hard time about it, saying there was no difference between it and conventional milk in the grocery store. One day, she was out of milk and she bought a container of conventional. When her husband tasted it, he told her that the milk was bad. She let him know that it had just been purchased. He was convinced that the milk was bad, so she showed him the carton and the best-before date. It was then that he realized how big a difference there is between properly processed organic milk, and conventional milk. He no longer gives her a hard time about buying Vital Green Farms milk.
We also have a customer with celiac disease that has found he can eat the yogurt without any problems. Vital Green Farms is the only dairy that he can handle; all others cause great distress.
