About Air

We hear a lot about air pollution these days with the Air Quality Index now a part of the weather forecast.  One aspect of air quality that is widely overlooked is that of indoor air. Contaminated indoor air is a serious health concern. The most polluted air is in buildings and vehicles. In the home and office, you are exposed to VOC’s from building materials, carpets and paint, computers and their components, mould and dust, and fragrances. While traveling by car, exhaust fumes, air fresheners, and chemicals from the upholstery are constantly being emitted into the confined space.

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency studies indicate that indoor levels of air pollution are from 2-5 times higher than outdoor levels and, in some cases, more than 100 times greater in modern sealed homes during winter months! This problem is of particular concern because many people spend 90% of their time indoors.

Contaminants and particulates in the air can cause breathing problems and exacerbate certain health issues. Poor air quality disrupts getting a good night's sleep.

Consider:
