What We Are

We are an eighty-acre, organic, mixed market farm about five miles southeast of Lethbridge, Alberta. After purchasing the farm in 1995, we immediately went organic, that is, farming without pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, artificial fertilizers, antibiotics, hormones and genetically modified organisms. As well, we use natural fertilizers, friendly cultivation, crop rotation, Grander Living Water, and give our land a Sabbath year. Our standards and practices exceed those of organic certification.

Our farm is diversified, with beef cattle, dairy (enough for us), sheep, layer and broiler chickens, turkeys, pasture, hay, grain, vegetable and herb gardens, strawberries and raspberries for U-pick and we-pick, four hives of bees for honey, and an orchard of apples, plums and cherries (See Harvest Haven Product Lists).

We have an on-farm store, open Sunday thru Friday, in which we sell, not only what we produce, but also organic (usually certified) produce and a full range of groceries. In our store, you will also find Grander and Aquasmart solutions for your water and air, health equipment, other health aids, natural fertilizers, genuine salt, personal care items, safe cleaning products and other wonderful products for optimum health.

We take the guesswork out of shopping for the basic essentials of life. We do the research and find the best products in their categories for the best prices. Every day we are all searching and researching, discussing, analyzing, surfing the net, evaluating, comparing, and we are in touch with many throughout the world in the health field. Will there be something better than what we offer? That is very possible, and it has happened. Things are always changing and we are always learning. However, our goal and commitment is to search out the very best, make it available, and save you the time, energy and trouble. Our desire and ambition is that when you come to Harvest Haven, you can feel genuinely confident that we know whereof we speak and that you can receive our advice with peace of mind as you shop with us.

Besides product, we are here to help people learn how to farm organically, or harmonically, to connect others with resources and contacts necessary and available for everyone's good. We offer advice on wholesome food preparation and preservation, on farming techniques, on choices of seeds, fertilizers, equipment, etc., and on living in general.

This is our farm, God-given, a good farm, more than a farm. We have much for which to be thankful. We look forward to sharing it with those who come.
